5-Star Success: Heavy-Duty Light Work

Getting the chance to live in the home of your dreams doesn’t happen to everyone, but when that house is wired improperly, the effect can truly be a nightmare. Ask Mike Hall, whose 10,000 square foot Georgia home suffered from some pretty severe wiring issues. Thankfully, through ServiceMagic, Mike was put into contact with Thomas Padden’s lighting and wiring company, Star Lights.
Righting Wrongs and Shedding Light
“Apparently the original installers didn’t have a firm grasp as to how these systems work. Because of this there was insufficient power to about 90% of the light fixtures, and not enough fixtures were used for the size of Mr. Hall’s home,” Padden said. Good thing for Mr. Hall, Padden knew exactly how to handle the situation.
The work to be done was extensive, but Star Lights got the basic problems taken care of on the first day. “My company installed additional fixtures to light up his home the right way, and we also rewired the entire system. When we were finished it didn’t even look like the same home.”
Bad wiring in a large home can spell a huge problem for the homeowner, and the relationship between Mike Hall and Tom Padden’s company wasn’t over after the initial work was finished. “We have also been out many times to perform service on other lighting systems that were installed on Mike’s home by some other company,” Tom said.
A Down-to-Earth Company
One of the biggest complaints homeowners have about having an extensive home improvement project performed is an estimate that looks nothing like the final bill. In this area, as in every other area of the job, Tom Padden’s company delivered. In today’s world where shoddy workmanship is far from rare and homeowner uncertainty is well founded, it’s good to know that when you work with the right company, an estimate can turn out to be exactly what was quoted without sacrificing quality.
Client Appreciation
Mr. Hall had dealt with plenty of contractors before, and has had a few disappointments in the past; however, his dealings with Tom were far from a let down. “I have absolutely no complaints about Tom’s company,” he said. “They came on time, finished on time, and did the job they said they’d do. It was refreshing.” Mike Hall found that, even in a pinch, Star Lights, Inc. could get the job done. “We noticed a problem [after the first visit] and I called Tom up. They came the next day and fixed it quickly at no charge…They’ve been perfect in every part of the job, and I’d recommend him to anybody.”
As far as service goes, there’s no doubting that Star Lights has done a good job of earning Mr. Hall’s respect, but how did he describe the finished product? “Perfect!” Mike couldn’t be happier with the job done by Tom Padden and his crew, and when all is said and done, making happy homeowners is what this business is all about!

In the four years that Star Lights has been in business, it’s easy to see that they take their customer service seriously. Delighted by both the initial performance and the subsequent follow ups to make sure the job was done right, Mike Hall had some complimentary things to say about Tom and his company. He explained that Star Lights had completely exceeded his expectations right from the start. “We had contacted two other companies [before Tom's]…we had a real good feeling about Tom from the beginning; his presentation was great.”
